Successor to CRP-2401CI+ ?

Does anyone heard any rumours or anything when there will be a successor to CRP-2401CI+ ?

Why a successor?

The CRP is an new model. I know people how wants buy the TF5200PVRc and this model is more then 10 years old.

It has been in retail couple of years... in my mind its a long time for a contemporary technology product
For SD DVBC broadcast there are several good old Topfield PVR products but this CRP2401 is the only one for HD DVBC PVR with TAP-support.

You are Wrong. In Germany, only one Receiver for SD was avaiable. The 5200PVRc. For HD there were several Receivers (TF7700HCCI, CBP2001CI+ and now CRP2401CI+). And the CRP is only 1 you on the market. And the technologe is in my eyes up to date.

I've found some CRP2401 tests, which have been made between August and October 2011.

Ok. In Finland we have several SD PVRs for cable network from Topfield and only one HD PVR (crc2400) without TAP-support. If we want to buy 2401, we have to buy it from abroad and buy a CI+ module from Finland so that would satisfy our cable network providers. I quess that PVR ready cbp2001 would be suitable us too but without embedded conax or CI+ module providers dont allow to see any HD channels.
2401 is good device but still I wait better performance for recording more HD channels simultaneously, possibility to use PiP with HD channels and better playback for recordings that aren't yet descrabmpled etc...

I think so too and there is plenty of room for an improvement of the firmware (e. g. making it more compatible with the SRP and implementing some of the TAPs). So they could make the CRP much better without releasing a new model.

That's only a software issue, so it could be done with the CRP model if Korea (Topfield) would listen to their customers.

So why don't they listen?
If thought that those issues I mentioned are hardware limited, but if not so, I'm quite disappointed them if they don't want to take everything out of current hardware.

Because they want to sell new receivers and not to invest much time for free firmware updates. That's what every manufacturer did, not only Topfield.
