3PG on the UK 5800

This is a long shot question as it is UK 5800 related:
How do you get 3PG (V29 rc4) to show the Extended Information for recordings in the archive? Pressing "i" does not work. On selecting a folder pressing "i" does correctly mark the icon for file "move" but on a recording nothing is displayed. Is it because 3PG has not been updated to read the file header of 5800 files similar to Filer etc or is there another explanation for this?
PS I'm sure that a previous version did display the header. Of course the UK 5800 file header is different to the 5000 and Markus had to make the necessary modification for Filer to produce the correct result - which of course it does!

I haven't checked, but we had already noticed that the extended information of the current playback is only displayed if the playback was started from 3PG. This may be related. I'll try and remember to check the next time my Toppy is running.

It would be very strange not to be able to see the programme description in the archive; In fact it would surely make it pointless to use the archive facility!

You are right. I can see the extended information in the archive. In the latest versions, a few firmware hacks have been removed in order to make porting 3PG to other platforms easier. Maybe that got rid of this feature on the 5800. 3PG doesn't use the FireBirdLib.

Thanks for confirming this. I was intrigued to see what new features might have turned up in 3PG but alas it seems to have taken some backward steps. That said, it still has the cleanest interface of all EPG taps.
PS I don't know why but in the Grid EPG as you move to programmes in the future you have no way of telling what "day" you are looking at which is a big problem and a serious hole in functionality. Also, in the archive, you can't see what channel (service) a programme was recorded from - another serious ommision. I guess the author has been too busy making things look pretty without paying attention to useful functionality. Or perhaps these are disabled for the 5800.
