I should say it is easier to develop and test for iOS, simply because the iphone and ipad and iOS on them is very compatible between the devices, whereas the Andoid devices vary quite a bit in performance, resolution, and compatibility. Now they're starting to bring out MIPS based devices as well!

OK - new version, 2.4.18 is now available from iTunes AppStore. Changes are:

- Settings screens - for setting multiple profiles as well as other options
- option of whether to allow button bar to be hidden
- beta option to show short cut controls (UseOSDControls) - tap once on the OSD screen when enabled
- option whether to auto-connect on app start (only the beginning ie during init)
- option if no TFIR don't go through TFIR connect screen
- Use Timeout value on TCP connect (was fixed at 5 seconds)
- change TFIR Ping IP and TFIR Ping Mac to Toppy Ping IP and Toppy Ping Mac
- show light on button bar when remote key is pressed

Some notes on Settings:

- iTMSRemote will connect to the selected profile. This is the profile that is ticked in the Settings
- To select a profile, press on the left hand side of the profile row in the profile list.
- To edit the profile, press on the right hand side of the profile row in the profile list.
- In the About screen, if you press on "Sitelink" it will connect to the help site for iTMSRemote

Known limitations/bugs

- using Settings in landscape mode on small screen results in bottom of screen is clipped - workaround is to rotate to Portrait mode
- when disconnected in Portrait mode, the word "Disconnected" may not be visible on a small screen
- if Autoconnect option is on, when resuming from suspend you may see "Trying to connect..." written over "Disconnected"
- if remote is visible and overlaps the button bar area, pressing on the remote in that area could activate the button bar button instead

Working on next version, 2.5.x - looking at the features below:

- scalable remotes, i.e. I'll supply 3 large remote images (2400/2100, 5000, 7160/7170/7100+) and you can resize them to whatever size you want by using gestures (this is already coded)
- support iCloud for sharing your settings across your devices
- Direct Mode - so you can use the device soft keyboard to enter text - currently supported by SmartEPG
- Capture Video Frame
- dBC's WOL connect

iTMSRemote is similar to the TMSRemote client for PC but not exactly the same. It requires the same backend TAP (TMSRemote) as the PC client.

Additionally it supports pinch/swipe/expand gestures. For more info on how it works go to my iTMSRemote help site at http://members.iinet.net.au/~deangelj/t ... Remote.htm

I have had to charge a small fee to recover some of my costs in licenses to produce the app. Hopefully it won't be too onerous. I will be updating the app free of charge with several enhancements over the next few months.

I love your app and use it nearly daily in my IPhone 4!

Could you consider to support retina displays on the next iphone version?
The higher resolution would allow me to read a lot easier without zooming in and out.

Mmm, I just tested this (it was easier to do than I thought). But you are not gaining much over the default since in the new version I save your existing scaling for the OSD and you can now scale the remote control (whose scale is also saved). So all you get really is a smaller button bar... And this makes it a little harder to press the buttonbar buttons accurately. I can show you a picture of before and after if you like so you can make a call.
